I want to thank you, the reader, whoever you are for reading this post. Today is the final Monday of 2014, and my final blog post for #MotivationMonday. As 2013 was ending, I was challenged by my friend Zach Gamble to start blogging. He took it a step further and challenged me to blog every week for an entire year. With the completion of this post, I will have blogged every week of 2014. I can look back now, and say that was one of the best decision of my life. This past year has allowed me to grow as a writer, as a speaker, and as a person. I have grown my following, I have built my platform, and hopefully I have changed the lives of some of you.
This blog began as a way for me to express myself, and attempt to help others. It turned into, if you’ve stayed with me, a way for me to alleviate my own personal demons. The basis of my motivation and inspiration to help others comes from own personal adversity. I earned a college basketball scholarship after not walking the last two years of high school. I found that to be pretty powerful, and I used that message to motivate others. However, as the year went on I found my posts to be helping myself more than anyone. I was able to finally let go of all the anger I had stored up from injuries. I have grown this past year into a man I am proud to be. I know where I want to going in life, and I know how I am going to get there. If you have not found your purpose like I have, that is okay. I do not know what is specific for you, but I do know this: If you have the ability to help other people and you are not doing so, then you are wasting your life.
As I said, this will be my final blog post. As much as I have enjoyed this last year with writing posts every week, I am ready to tackle a new challenge. I will be moving to video blogs for 2015. They will still have the popular title of #MotivationMonday, but you will be able to see me! I will continue to bring the same principles of success and advancing through life, but you will be able to connect with me on a whole new level! I am beyond excited for you to see what I have in store! Also, I plan to publish a book of my writings in 2015. A guide for you to follow in order to better live your life to the fullest. Be watching for that to come out!
“We all want to believe what we do is very important. That people hang on our every word, that they care what we think. Truth is, you should consider yourself lucky if you even occasionally get to make somebody, anybody, feel a little better.”
People will forget what you said, and people will forget what you did, but they will remember the way you made them feel. I hope I have helped in some way this year. Thank you.
